Anca & Lucca win the Gold Medal at the European Championships of Magic in Blackpool
The Romanian/Austrian magic couple Anca & Lucca enchanted the audience with an unusual and inexplicable performance at the world's largest magic convention in Blackpool (UK) this weekend. The pair won the first Gold Medal awarded ever in the mental magic category at the FISM European Championships. The international jury rewarded Austria's current national champions with an outstanding score of 80% of the maximum possible points.
In one of the last domains of men in which women are often restricted to the role of the assistant, Anca has achieved what no man has done before her. The same way her stage character takes over control after the first moments and surprises even her husband and partner on stage with unseen effects like the description of people, she has never seen before.
The FISM European Championships take place every 3 years. Blackpool, this year's venue, is also the organizer of the world's largest magic convention, with over 3,500 magicians from all over the world in attendance. The international jury praised not only the technical skills but also the entertaining stage performance, playing on the marital conflict between two magicians who try to outsmart each other. In front of 3,000 guests at the Winners’ Gala at Blackpool’s Opera House Theatre, Anca and Lucca amazed with the effects of their act, "The Mind-Reading Revolution".
The Mind-Reading Revolution
"The Mind-Reading Revolution" is a new development of the world-famous and over 200-year-old illusion of mind-reading. Last weekend, Anca & Lucca, who previously won the title "Austrian Masters of Mental Magic" three times in a row (2012, 2014 and 2016), received 80% of the maximum number of points from the international jury in Blackpool.
